It’s simple, there is a code assoiciated with each SIM which is provided by SIM provider on request when you want to switch to new provider. You have to supply same code to your new provider which inturn will map it and you start receiving calls using new provider’s service with same number.

Can I Unlock A Prepaid Cell Phone To Use With My Existing Cell Phone Service?

I currently have cell phone service (not prepaid) and want to upgrade to a different phone; I live outside of the US and it is somewhat of a hassle to upgrade to a new phone. I was wandering if it is possible to buy a prepaid cell phone, unlock it and use it with my current sim card and monthly service?

I know the t mobile 3g service has a different frequency then the 3g i phone making it pointless to get to get one. I currently have a jailbroken 2g problem is wifi is a pain in my area.A friend of mine broke his eternity and was going to chuck it i convinced him to give it to me instead, the only thing incorrect with it is its screen is shattered and could easily be replaced.So if anyone could tell me weather the 3g service would work i may really consider spending the money to repair it.
